Dear Parents

This week at Into The Woods we've been making trails and maps and going on treasure hunts; investigating water, bees and tunnels in the woods; using the walkie talkies to communicate between groups. Lots of role play including spaceships, doctors, families, Billy Goats Gruff, pirates, robots and riding horses to name but a few. What imaginative children – all this with the aid of some sticks, logs and mud! We have been on bug hunts with magnifying glasses, made music with the saucepans and spoons, drawn pictures on bark, played football, drilled holes and threaded string through to make various things including beads, leaf necklaces and picture frames. Our Personal, Social, Emotional development focus was 'Friends' and we have talked with the children about including everyone who wants to play. (That's how Ferdy and Hornbeam became friends.) We've had our usual drumming and yoga and also lots of swinging, rolling, running, cooking, climbing, singing, stories....

Photos on Flickr as usual.

Over the next few weeks we are going to make make some butterfly feeders. For this we need lots of plastic bottle tops from water or milk bottles. Please could you bring in any you can collect from home, next week. Thanks

Lost property

Please have a look at the lost property in the pictures attached. We have to get rid of it by the end of next week as it's taking over our storage box...On Friday we will have to recycle, charity shop or otherwise dispose of what's left.

And as always...

Please keep us updated with any changes to you or your child's circumstances including: address and phone numbers, medication or allergies.

If you have any suggestions or comments regarding the nursery, please let us know.

That's all for now – see you in the woods...

Emma
